Bet you have heard about online jobs, home-based jobs and such. I first heard about it from a friend. And I said, why not give it a try...
When it comes to computer knowledge I'm not sure as to what level I am in but the best ambitious thing I know is that I want to earn money using the internet. I learned that many internet users, specially those who are really good at it are earning bigger amount than what they are earning in their full time job.
With the help of friends and learning materials from the internet, I am able to understand and learn some of the basics of online job. I've tried Odesk.com. With a little hardwork and patience, I was able to earn a few dollars. I was thrilled to see the first dollar credited to my account. I also learned about Adsense from google.com. However, Adsense was kind of difficult. I was able to create an account and earned my first penny. Adding more gadgets and earning more is kind of challenging.
I'm still trying to learn more and to uncover new things from online jobs. For now, I would like to share a few things on how to get started with Odesk.com.
How to get started.
I. Create an account with Odesk.com
If you are an independent contractor, be sure to sign up as a freelance provider. Once you have created an account, you can now start taking the oDesk Readiness Test for Independent Contractors and Company Managers. This is a requirement before you can start applying for jobs from Odesk.com. It's an open book exam so you don't really have to worry about it. There are other tests that you can take. These tests would help you showcase your skills and entice more buyers.
II- Applying for Jobs
Once you're ready with your odesk account, you can now start applying for jobs. It's advisable that you start with a low rate. Once you have gained experiences then that's the time that you can bid for a higher rate with your buyer.
Also, in creating a cover letter be sure not to submit generic cover letters. Buyers often than not base their decision in hiring you from the cover letter that you submitted. As much as possible when applying for several jobs at a time be sure to respond to each post with a cover letter that suits the job being posted.
III- Maintaining a Good Profile
When you are already assigned with a job, be sure to be professional at all times. Always meet deadlines. Do not leave an assignment unfinished because once your buyer ends the assignment he will leave a score and a feedback in your account. Most buyers look for providers with an average score of around 4. The highest is 5. To avoid failing scores, provide quality results and always be honest from the start. If you can't do the task then say so.
IV-Jobs One can Find in Odesk
Jobs in Odesk vary from web development to sales and marketing. These include writing and translation, customer service, administrative support and a lot more.
